A senior police official has said that the main suspect in the alleged possession of a grenade at a Christian church in Embilipitiya has been arrested in the Panamura area, according to a Sinhala media report.
The officer said he was paid to plant the bomb.
The official added that investigations were underway to arrest the person who provided the money.
It is noteworthy that the Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, had strongly criticized the police for arresting a civilian who had left a grenade in the church.
