168 million drams will be allocated to equip the new customs border crossing point “Margara” on the Armenian-Turkish border with appropriate technical means, X-ray screening and in-depth physical examination equipment.
The decision was taken at today’s government session.
Last week, SRC Chairman Rustam Badasyan told journalists that the construction of the Margara checkpoint could be completed this week.
“The checkpoint is almost ready, maybe it will be ready in the next week, there is almost no work left,” he said.
To remind, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on October 30 that the agreements reached between the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey will be implemented in the near future.
“Armenia-Turkey border is opened for citizens of 3rd countries and holders of diplomatic passports. Also, significant infrastructural work has been done, we have worked on re-equipment at the Margara checkpoint and are ready for developments in this regard. We hope that the agreements will be implemented,” Pashinyan said.
