The 2022/23 season has not yet kicked off, but it seems that some of the top coaches in the Premier League in recent years will open it without a team. With the rate of dismissal of coaches in the Premier League and National League in recent years, it is not impossible that whoever starts the season at home will end it on the lines of a club in Israel. The market is boiling and it’s time to make an order: who’s available in the meantime?

Roni Levy

The 55-year-old senior coach who stood on the lines of teams such as Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Netanya, Betar Jerusalem, clubs abroad and of course Hapoel Beer Sheva last season is still without a team. Levy was appointed BS coach on February 17, 2021, but was fired on March 1 this year after a series of less-than-good results and was replaced by Aliniv Barda.

Marco is confused

The 54-year-old coach who until recently worked for the Israeli national team as an assistant coach for the last time in the Premier League when he stood on the lines of Maccabi Haifa, which chose not to continue his contract in July 2020 after about a season and a half on the lines. Belbul, who until recently was a candidate for Hapoel Haifa’s coaching, which did not happen in the end, also coached the young Israeli team in the past and even coached Bnei Sakhnin, Maccabi Petah Tikva and Hapoel Beer Sheva in the more distant past.

Slobodan Drapic

Last season, the 57-year-old Serbian-Israeli coach received Kiryat Shmona when it was in bad shape, and managed to get it out of the mud with the promise of the bottom of the lower playoffs while presenting attractive football. In light of disagreements with owner Izzy Sheretsky, he ended his career at the end of last season. In the past, he coached Betar Jerusalem (twice), Maccabi Netanya and Bnei Sakhnin, among others.

Elisha Levy

Hapoel Haifa chose to say goodbye to the 64-year-old coach at the end of last season, when the team failed to qualify for the top playoffs and at a certain point there was even a real fear of relegation. Levy managed to win the championship with Maccabi Haifa at the beginning of the previous decade, and later coached Hapoel Beer Sheva, the Israeli national team, Maccabi Petah Tikva, Bnei Yehuda and Hapoel Kfar Saba.

Sharon Mimar

Mimar, 48, has been without a team since finishing his part in Bnei Sakhnin on January 18 this year. He previously successfully coached Hapoel Hadera in the Premier League and before that he worked for Hapoel Haifa (from which he resigned in April 2019), Maccabi Petah Tikva, Betar Jerusalem and Hapoel Kfar Saba.
