The median salary in Israel increases at a faster rate than the average salary

by time news

In recent years, the median net salary has been rising faster than the average salary. At the time of the Corona, the salary increased due to the dismissal of weak employees, but even today the salary remains high. According to Dr. of Economics Yishai Ma’oz from the Open University, “this is a very clear expression of the fact that the economy here has been very strong in recent years.” In his eyes, the fact that the median wage rose more indicates that “the increase was at all income levels.” If the growth was concentrated in the upper deciles, we would expect for the distance between the median and the average salary.
