RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan today received International Finance Corporation Regional Director Ivana Fernandez Duarte, IFC Armenia Office Head Arman Barkhudaryan and IFC “Economic Growth in Armenia” Project Manager Arsen Nazaryan.
The minister highly appreciated the involvement of the International Financial Corporation in the investment projects implemented in Armenia. The minister singled out capital market development, projects implemented with the private sector, alternative energy, public-private cooperation, SME development and the high-tech sector as key directions.
Ivana Fernandez Duarte noted that this is her first visit to Armenia in this position, and currently the formats of possible participation of IFC in the reforms planned by the government are being discussed. Ms. Duarte also highlighted the importance of cooperation with the RA government, noting that the IFC considers the steps aimed at simplifying the field of regulation of the financial sector, sustainable energy and investment environment in Armenia to be of priority.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the progress and perspectives of the RA Government – International Financial Corporation cooperation.
