Today, on September 18, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of RA independence, RA Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan presented titles and awards to a number of people who have invested in Armenian sports and recorded achievements in the hall of the ministry. This is reported by the official website of the department.

Hayk Demoyan, director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute, was awarded the Ministry’s Gold Medal “For Outstanding Services” for making a great contribution to the development of physical culture and sports by order of the Minister. Thanking H. Demoyan for the monograph “Armenian sports and physical education in the Ottoman Empire”, G. Ghazaryan emphasized the unique information included in the book and related to the history of Armenian sports and the large-scale work done by the author. “After getting acquainted with the book, I discovered with great joy that Mr. Demoyan approached it with special care and responsibility, presenting the unknown pages of the history of Armenian sports to the future generations,” G. said in his speech. Ghazaryan.

By order of the Minister, several representatives of the sports world were awarded the title of “Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports” and were awarded with the badge of the same name: RA honored coach Hrachya Chandiryan, Eduard Alagyozyan, coach of the Armenian acrobatics team, Arshak Gharibyan, coach of the Armenian table tennis team, and Rubik Movsesyan, honored coach of the RA.

Then the minister awarded the sports title “Master of Sports of the Republic of Armenia”.
