Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Aykhan Hajizade commented on the statements made by French Prime Minister Gabriel Atal at the meeting with representatives of the Armenian community.
Hajizade condemned the demands directed at Azerbaijan and the statements related to Armenia. “We remind the Prime Minister of France, who condemned the “anti-terrorist measures” taken against the “remnants of the Armenian armed forces” located in the “sovereign territories of Azerbaijan” and accused Azerbaijan of occupying the Armenian territories, that the measures taken by the Azerbaijani side “do not violate” the norms and principles of international law. , as well as the provisions of the UN Security Council, of which France is a permanent member, are “fully consistent” with the resolutions related to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict,” Hajizade said.
“Once again, we call on the French side to learn from its history, not to interfere in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs and to stop such provocative statements,” he added.
To remind, in his speech, Gabriel Atal demanded that Azerbaijan withdraw its armed forces from the occupied territories of Armenia.
