The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that the department had given permission to use the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine for pregnant women.
“The expert community has made a decision to remove the contraindications,” the official said.
Murashko added that the decision was made on the basis of positive research results and accumulated data on the effectiveness and safety of the drug. According to him, now the opportunity is open for vaccination of pregnant women “with a high risk of severe disease.”
