The price increase is adjusted for inflation in the period January 2022 – September 2023.
Due to the inflation accumulated in the period January 2022 – September 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food proposes to the government to adopt a decree to increase prices in The tariffby which the implementation of the measures under The program for the prevention, supervision, control and eradication of diseases of the animals and zoonoses.
The proposal is to increase services by 19.3%.
The previous price increase set out in the tariff was at the end of 2021. As the values had not been changed since 2016, then the price increase was 14.3%, which was the accumulated inflation over 5 years.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) is preparing a three-year national program for the prevention, supervision, control and eradication of animal diseases and zoonoses (NPPNKLBZZB). The program is approved by the Council of Ministers and contains a list of diseases, species and number of animals, specific measures and schemes for their implementation, as well as the necessary means for their implementation.
The proposed Tariff is subject to public discussion from October 30 to November 29.
After that, it will be promulgated in the “State Gazette” and published on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF). The specified prices can be changed only according to the inflation index determined by the National Statistical Institute (NSI).
By letters with reg. No. 02-2/25.01.2023 through the administration of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, reg. No. 62-269/12.06.2023, reg. No. 62-336/17.07.2023 and reg. No. 62-336/05.10.2023 The Bulgarian Veterinary Union (BVS) again requests the Ministry of Health to take actions to update the current tariff with the aim of compensating the costs incurred by the registered veterinarians for the implementation of the measures laid down in the NPPNKLBZHZB .
