The production of electric vehicles of three brands – Zetta, Kama-1 and Motorinvest – will be established in Russia in the next two to three years, said Alexander Morozov, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“I think that the project from Lipetsk (“ Motorinvest ”- Ed.) Will enter the market the fastest. Zetta will be on his heels (subject to attracting additional investment in the project). Then, I think, there will be “Kama”. And all this in the next two or three years, “- quoted by” RIA Novosti “Deputy Minister.

He clarified that Kamaz is considering launching a new separate plant for the production of the Kama-1 electric vehicle in Russia in 2024-2025, and Zetta is currently in the process of certification. At the same time, the Lipetsk company Motorinvest will sign a special investment contract for the production of electric vehicles at its full-cycle plant, which has already been built.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other interested departments and institutions are working on the “Concept for the development of production and use of electric transport in Russia for the period up to 2030” as part of the government’s instruction in the strategic direction “New technological environment”. In April, the Ministry of Economic Development announced the first parameters of the future concept: 1.5 million electric vehicles on the country’s roads by 2030, 20,000 charging stations, investments of 418 billion rubles. As part of the work on the concept, the Public Chamber proposed to stimulate sales of electric vehicles in Russia, including imported ones.
