At the end of 2021, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs remained dissatisfied with the operation of servers on the Russian Elbrus processors of the MCST company, a source in the government told Kommersant. The department pointed to the incompatibility of processors with Russian software, which, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, slows down its digitalization.

MCST representative Konstantin Trushkin told Kommersant that the company is aware of the problem and is working to improve system performance. According to him, a solution to the I / O speed problems has been found – an OS update and “correct application software configuration” are needed. “When the OS is loaded, we are preparing an update,” he said.

Sergey Ovchinnikov, the general director of Norsi-Trans, a server supplier for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, admitted that consumers complain about processor performance, but, according to him, new, faster ones are being developed – Elbrus 8SV is replacing Elbrus 8C, in the first quarter Deliveries of Elbrus 16C will begin in 2022.
