Economist Suren Parsyan, head of the economic research office of the ARF Bureau, wrote on his Facebook page:
“The Ministry of Territorial Administration hid the information about the actual price increase of gas.
On January 14, 2022, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia announced that on December 23, 2021, the amendment and full information of the interstate contract related to the heat supply of natural gas were published.
In fact, the ministry is simply lying, because in the package of item 7 of the agenda of the RA government session (there is no information that the actual price of natural gas delivered to the Republic of Armenia from April 1, 2022 is set equal to 165 USD per thousand cubic meters, 7900 kcal /cubic meter in the lower temperature conditions and 177.53 USD per thousand cubic meters in the lower temperature conditions of 8500 kcal/cubic meter.
This information became known to the public on 12.01.2022 from the application for revision of the natural gas tariff by “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC published on the azdarar.am platform of official announcements. Why did the same ministry not present the contract signed by “Gazprom Armenia” on October 29, 2021 to the public in October, November and December?
The fact that the 2-year long gas negotiations ended and the contract was signed at a time when the price of gas on the international exchange was unprecedentedly high also speaks of the ineffective work of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
