The successful documentary film The miracles of Mother Teresa: Dawn in Calcutta hits theaters across the United States this Friday, July 14, through the Regal Cinemas chain and thanks to the International Catholic Film Festival.
The film, which has been successfully released in Spain and Latin America, was directed by José María Zavala, who has also been in charge of important Catholic films such as The mystery of Padre Pio, Wojtyla. The investigation y Reborn: Padre Pio changed their lives.
The documentary collects, through the testimonies of people who knew Mother Teresa, founder of the Missionaries of Charity, her legacy of love and service to the poorest and neediest.
Speaking to ACI Prensa on July 12, Gaby Jácoba, director of the Festival, highlighted that the film “shows us the gift that God gives us through the intercession of the saints,” as well as the impact that Saint Mother Teresa had of Calcutta, who died on September 5, 1997 and canonized by Pope Francis on September 4, 2016, to “change lives and generate conversions.”
“This film shows us how God, when we put ourselves in his hands, can work and do a great work like the Missionaries of Charity and all the work and legacy that Mother Teresa, with her love, with her life, left to the humanity”.
The miracles of Mother Teresa: Dawn in Calcuttahighlighted Jácoba, also moves viewers “to the pro-life struggle and pro-family values, and to put God at the center of our lives.”
The documentary, he stressed, “will transform your heart, it will inspire you, it will motivate you and, above all, it will enhance your desire to love and serve others.”
The director of the International Catholic Film Festival encouraged all the dioceses, parishes, communities and families to attend the premiere of the documentary, especially “the first weekend, which is so important… so that the film can remain on the billboard and that a lot of people can see it.”
