Morocco has embarked on structural reforms aimed at developing its football. One of the major levers of this new dynamic is the Mohammed VI Football Academy, added the president of the FTF in a statement to MAP.

Inaugurated in 2009, this football academy “gave new impetus to Moroccan football”, thanks to high-level training, noted Mr. Kossi Akpovy, noting that the Kingdom “is a model to follow in terms of training young talents football in Africa and across the world.

“I had the honor of visiting the facilities of the Mohammed VI Academy. I believe that Moroccan football is very lucky to be able to count on such a structure with quality sports facilities and training grounds. This is an excellent framework which promotes the development of Moroccan football,” continued the president of the FTF.

The success of the Mohammed VI Academy has allowed the emergence of several footballing talents (Youssef En-Nesyri, Nayef Aguerd, etc.) who have been playing for years with the national team, noted Mr. Kossi Akpovy, also a member of the committee. executive of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

“During the last World Cup in Qatar, Morocco did honor to all of Africa by reaching, for the first time, the semi-finals of a World Cup. This is not the result of chance. In reality, the Cartesian approach to Moroccan training has a considerable impact on the performance of the national team. It is a real source of inspiration for my country, Togo,” said Mr. Kossi Akpovy.

Covering an area of ​​approximately 18 ha, the Mohammed VI Football Academy, which mobilized investments of around 140 million dirhams, was built and equipped according to the standards in force in training centers world-class Europeans, with a view to providing young Moroccans with the ideal conditions to benefit from high-quality training, allowing them to evolve within the biggest clubs in Morocco and Europe.
