The funds with which the government guarantees free textbooks for all students and children in kindergartens have been provided, the Council of Ministers announced.
The Cabinet will allocate an additional BGN 93 million for the purchase of educational books, textbooks, e-readable textbooks, study sets and study aids for children and students from I to XII grades in municipal kindergartens and schools for the year 2024.
This became clear at today’s meeting of the Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov with the management of the “Bulgarian Book” Association. The Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov also took part in the conversation.
For the first time, free textbooks are also provided for the students of classes VIII to XII, the government reminds. Until now, students from I to VII grades received such. Thus, for the next academic year, all students from I to XII grades will receive free textbooks and study sets for general education subjects.
Funds for textbooks for public schools are provided by the budgets of the relevant ministries.
