Kfar Saba and Fez cooperate: The mayor of Fez in Morocco, Dr. Abdelsalam Bakali, arrived today (Thursday) to visit Kfar Saba and establish relations and cooperation between the two cities. This is after he met with the mayor Rafi Sa’ar about three weeks ago at the world climate conference, which was held in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The visit is a continuation of the first meeting of the mayor of Kfar Saba, Rafi Sa’ar with the mayor of Fess during the world climate conference that took place about three weeks ago in Morocco. Today’s visit began with a meeting at the Kfar Sabai pavilion at the Muni Expo 2022 conference of the local government center, which is being held in Tel Aviv, from where the delegation from Morocco arrived at the city hall in Kfar Saba, where they met the mayor Rafi Sa’ar and the deputy mayor and a native of the city of Faz, Dani Harosh.

The mayor of Kfar Saba, Rafi Sa’ar explained how the visit came about: “I met with the mayor of Fez for a particularly cordial meeting at the Sharm el-Sheikh conference, and from there the historic visit to our city was born. I am sure that this is only the first step, on the way to close cooperation in various fields.”

The mayor of Fez, Dr. Abdelsalam Bakali said: “I am very excited to be here, and excited to meet the children of the conservatory who were waiting for us and played beautifully. I would love for the first collaboration between us to be between children’s orchestras from us and from Kfar Saba and invite you to an Andalusian music festival in our city in Morocco.”
“This is my first time visiting Israel,” continued Abdelsalam, “and I feel at home here and much more than I expected.” The mayor of Fez continues: “When I received the invitation from Kfar Saba, I was only looking for the right moment to promote it, and that time has come now. I hope that this visit will be the foundations for the future and for the generations to come from both cities. I received new brothers and sisters here.”
