He Extraordinary plenary session held this Monday has definitively approved the extraordinary credit of more than 20 million with which will provide continuity to the city’s large strategic projects, which will provide a boost to the municipal economy with significant proposals for the coming years. This is the last necessary procedure for the credit to be executive and the projects that Mayor Ballesta’s Government team has in its portfolio can begin to be tendered.
After going through the Plenary Commission a few days ago and evaluating the allegations presented, the 20 million credit is now effective.
The person in charge of Mobility, Economic Management and Contracting of the Murcia city council, José Francisco Muñoz explains that thanks to these investments, actions will be able to begin, such as the Southern Connection works derived from the burying of the AVE, the Greenway of the Southern Cordillera, the rehabilitation of the Verónicas Market or the Wolf King Fortresses.as well as numerous investments in districts that exceed six million euros of investment.
The most notable investment chapters of this extraordinary credit correspond to the Southern Connection works related to the arrival of the AVE to the city of Murcia, with more than 8 million for the urban development of the southern area of the city. It also has 1.5 million euros for the Southern Cordillera Greenway; 731,287 euros for the first phase of the rehabilitation of the Verónicas Marketwith which the roof will be changed and the façade will be rehabilitated, improving insulation; and 652,150 euros that will go to the recovery of the medieval heritage of the Wolf King Fortresses.
Another of the chapters with the greatest weight is that of investments in districts, which will be given a boost with important development projects through more than 6 million euros
Muñoz emphasizes that In total, 24 projects are planned to be executed in 2024 in the districts of Murcia through these investments, among which is the construction of new municipal centers and other infrastructure in Corvera, Santiago El Mayor, Puente Tocinos and Santiago and Zaraiche, in addition to completing the works on the municipal offices of Nonduermas and Los Dolores.
“Thanks to the approval this Monday of the extraordinary credit, we will be able to immediately begin the development of important actions for the municipality of Murcia, which will have a very prominent weight in both the economic and social development of the territory,” says the councilor.
