The MWC begins by discussing the future of technology and equality

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) will kick off this Monday with a debate on the future of artificial intelligence, 5G networks and virtual reality, which “necessarily” has to be linked “to a shared vision to achieve a future just and equitable for all”.

In the inaugural conference of the event that takes place these days in Barcelonathe general managers of Telefónica, Orange and the GSMA -the association that promotes the MWC- will analyze, together with the European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Services, the new “immersive and inclusive” path in which the technology industry finds itself. The organizers consider that “collaboration opportunities continue” in a context in which “mobile networks are evolving to be more open and agile”, providing “a smart platform ready for an expanding digital landscape”.

“Keynote 1”, starring José María Álvarez-Pallete, Christel Heydemann, Mats Granryd and Thierry Breton, is entitled “The vision of an open future” and will take place from 9:30 am. in the morning in the Barcelona Fair.

The challenges in the coming years

A few hours later, the second big MWC talk will take place, which will deal with what is expected of the technology industry in the next ten years. With more people and devices connected to the Internet than ever before, technology industry leaders believe the next decade is poised to offer consumers greater access to information and new ways to communicate.
