The National Folkloric Ballet of the Ministry of Culture (SECULTURA) will present on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, the production “Tashtule. Treasures of the West” at the National Theater of San Salvador.

SECULTURA reported that the work will be carried out at 5:00 pm and will have no cost. “Tashtule” is a set of traditional prints from the west of the country, where the ballet shows the traditions of the region, the Secretariat reported.

The traditions shown in the work were captured as a result of a two-year investigation. Among the images represented in the work are: El jeu-jeu, La Negra Sebastiana, Los pastores y los micodioses, Los Parabienes, El tigre and the deer of Izalco, the bull-star of Ataco, The historians of Cuisnahuát, The talcigüines, The lighthouses, among others.

According to the Secretariat, the word “Tashtule” comes from Nahuat and means speech. It is related to the work, because in the staging a “tashtulero” or narrator is presented who explains the sequence of the different pictures.

The work is presented for the second consecutive year within the framework of the national holidays.
