The Netherlands Rijksmuseum has released a digital copy of Rembrandt’s “Night Watch” in 717 Gp resolution for open access. This is the most detailed scan of the painting, you can see individual brushstrokes of the artist on it.
The image was taken with a Hasselblad H6D 400 MS 100 megapixel camera, which captured over 8,400 images of the canvas. After scanning, the image was checked using neural networks for uniformity in color and sharpness, and then combined into one photograph. The result is an image weighing over 5.6 TB. The previous digital copy of the painting was made at 44.8 Gp.
