A week after rumors appeared online about a new operating system, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi officially introduced it is called HyperOS, which is different from the previously mentioned MiOS.

The company said that HyperOS will serve as an ecosystem to manage all Xiaomi gadgets and devices, including Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones.

The Internet resource GSMChina published the first screenshots of the new operating system. Taking a closer look at the interface, experts noted certain similarities with iOS, such as a notification shade, quick access icons and a music player. The camera interface has also undergone significant changes, with an emphasis on convenient one-handed control of settings. A special menu with settings can now be opened with one thumb.

The official premiere of the new HyperOS operating system is expected on October 27. It will be presented at the presentation of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphones, which will be the company’s first devices running on the new operating system.

Rumors about the creation of a new operating system were circulated back in November 2022, when Xiaomi registered the domain name mios.cn. It was unclear what this domain name was intended for, since the corporation not only did not comment on the upcoming update, but also used the term MIUI 15 in an advertisement for the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition smartphone. Now, with the advent of HyperOS, the role and intentions associated with the mios.cn domain remain unclear.
