The New York Italian Music Festival lands on Rai2

The XIII edition of NYCanta, the New York Italian Music Festival lands on Rai 2 on March 9th at about 11.30 pm. The show that has always been aired for the world audience on Rai Italia, this year is proposed in the late evening, directly from the historic jazz club, Blue Note in Milan. Born fifteen years ago thanks to the Italian Cultural Association of New York, which through music and through the organization of this festival, promotes and supports Italian culture in America and around the world. After many selections, the 8 finalists of this edition were chosen, four Italians residing in Italy and the same number of Italians residing abroad.

An evening that ended with the victory of Gregorio Rega who interpreted the song “Every Vote”, second place for Ellynora and third place for Sabba. The management was entrusted to Enrico Ruggeri who paid homage to the audience also with live performances including the song written for Loredana Bertè, ‘The winter sea’. Among the protagonists of the evening, a friend of NYCanta, Fausto Leali, the producer and artist Danti, Big Boy, Alfa together with Tecla, the journalist Mario Luzzatto Fegiz, the guitarist and tenor Federico Paciotti, Maurizio Vandelli, Paolo Vallesi, the artistic director of Radio Norba and presenter of Battiti Live on Italia 1 Alan Palmieri, the comedian and correspondent of Striscia la Notizia Sasà Salvaggio, Alessandro Casillo, the president of Nuovo Imaie Andrea Miccichè.

The show started with a very original guitar and vocal version of ‘New York New York’ by Big Boy which immediately catapulted everyone overseas and a series of guests who satisfied the younger audience with Alfa and Tecla and the older one with the performances of Fausto Leali, Maurizio Vandelli, Sasà Salvaggio and Ruggeri himself. Many well-known faces in the audience in the hall, Nina ZilliAlessio Bernabei, Pierdavide Carone, the sports manager Gianluca Paparesta, Luca Abbrescia, Dj Mitch of Radio 105, Dj Jad and Wlady, the stylist Andrea Amara, the actress Sabrina Bertaccini and many professionals from the Italian music world.

Satisfied the artistic directors Beppe Stanco and Cesare Rascel and for the New York delegation headed by Tony Di Piazza, together with Tony Mulè and Joe Nastasi. After this restart, the festival is increasingly becoming one of the most popular competitions for emerging young people, plus an unexpected surprise for the competitors in the competition, each of them received a scholarship worth 1,000 euros offered by the organization in order to allow them to fly to America when things have calmed down.

From February 15th the registrations for the XIV edition will start again and all information will be available on www.nycanta.com. The NYCanta enjoys the patronage of Siae, Nuovo Imaie and partner of the Italian National Singers. The 8 young protagonists, in detail, are Annalisa Andreoli (L’Aquila) with the song ’60 .000 Vite ‘; Angie (Uta, province of Cagliari) with ‘Rollercoaster’; Ellynora (Los Angeles) with ‘Uh La La’; Gregorio Rega (Naples) with ‘Every vote’; Marco Sicilia (Hessen) with ‘You never told me’; Monia (Sanremo) with ‘Cellula’; Sabba (Naples) with ‘Comete’ and Vittorio Di Carlo (Connecticut) with ‘Domani’.
