The American humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen (WCK), whose seven employees were killed Monday evening in the Gaza Strip by Israeli strikes, requested this Friday, April 5, the creation of an independent commission of inquiry.
“We demand the creation of an independent commission to investigate the murders of our colleagues”indicated the NGO in a press release, after the Israeli army recognized a series of“serious errors” regarding the facts.
“The Israeli military acknowledged that our teams followed all appropriate communications procedures. The Israeli army video shows no reason to fire on our convoy, which carried no weapons and posed no threat”underlines the NGO.

The number of humanitarian deaths “is now around 200”
THE « excuses » of the army for the death of NGO collaborators “are but poor comfort”declared the head of the NGO, Erin Gore, emphasizing in the press release that Israel must “take concrete measures to ensure the safety of humanitarian workers”.
“It is not enough to try to avoid the deaths of other humanitarian workers, whose number is now close to 200”indicated for his part the founder of WCK, José Andres, the famous American chef of Spanish origin. “All civilians must be protected”he said in the press release.
