The OnePlus 10T also failed the durability test, and the company claims

by time news

About six months after the durability test in which the OnePlus 10 Pro disintegrated under pressure, the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything repeated the test but this time with the company’s new flagship device, the OnePlus 10T. The end result was similar: the device did manage to survive well attempts to scratch the display, but when pressure was applied to its sides it was cut in two, in a way that obviously made it completely unusable.

This time, OnePlus decided to respond to the JerryRigEverything test results, and the company believes that this is a test that is not relevant to consumers, and does not indicate the device’s durability in realistic day-to-day conditions.

“The OnePlus 10T meets all the requirements of our comprehensive durability tests, including a pressure test in which the device is suspended at its center and required to withstand pressure applied to its sides. The OnePlus 10T has a reinforced structure, and is able to survive the application of an external force of up to 45 kilograms,” the company said.

According to One Plus, the OnePlus 10T, like all the company’s models, combines a beautiful and easy-to-use design with durability for everyday use. It should be noted that the JerryRigEverything channel itself does not claim that its survival test is intended to test the device under real conditions, but on the contrary: it is an artificial test of extreme conditions.

However, most of the devices tested on the channel, including flagship devices from major manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi, did not fall apart under similar pressure and usually receive a fairly high durability rating.
