The New Year’s cake was also cut by the Sports Association of Amateur Fishermen of Ioannina in a beautiful event at the “Methexis Ideas” tavern, which was accompanied by awards to those who distinguished themselves in 2023 in sports fishing competitions.
The observance of the traditional custom of the king pie was also accompanied by the annual general meeting of the association with the presence of all members. ASEA Ioannina covers a special part of the sports of our region, it is regularly registered in the sports register of the General Secretariat of Sports with activity of the members and participation in sports competitions of amateur fishing. The athletes who stood out were given honorary plaques. Also, an honorary award was given to Yannis Ioannou who is one of the founding members of the association and served it in many positions, as vice president from time to time and as a member of the election committee. Giannis Ioannou, one of the notable people of the local community and public life, who is active in business in the field of catering, deserved every honor.
Club member Altin Muskai achieved the feat. A delegation of ASEA Kastoria was also present at the event. Lakes Pamvotida and Kastoria help the activity of the two clubs.
The event was attended by the Deputy Regional Governor for Youth Sports and Lifelong Learning Haris Lazanis, the Deputy Mayor of Primary Sector, Regional Development, Lake Protection and Energy Aristides Kassis, the President of the Municipal Community of Ioannina Konstantinos Koutsoyiannis and the members Sotirios Benatsis, Konstantinos Mantzaropoulos. On this occasion, the above representatives of the city bodies were informed by the members of the board of directors of the association about the activity and also about other matters of their competence.
