Through Dimitra Papadopoulou’s writing full of humor and true emotion, the direction full of transitions and tenderness by Kostas Gakis, the human and magical directing and lighting touches of Natasha Fais Kosmidou and of course the divine and moving interpretation of Pavlos Loutsidis, the great work of Dostoyevsky’s “Dream of a Ridiculous Man” comes to the present day and comes to life in a completely unexpected and fresh way on his stage

Municipal Theater of Rhodes

on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May

at 21.00.

Can we through the words of Dostoyevsky… Discover what we are looking for? To find where the truth really lies? Shall we open a merciless battle with the dragon of seriousness? To find where is the purpose and meaning of our life? Can we ever exonerate our “ridiculous” selves? To feel the light even in the darkest streets? Take some time out from the hustle and bustle of this city to look at the stars again? To allow a little girl who speaks another language, believes in another God to teach us how to love? To enjoy our every debauchery as if it were a triumph?? To learn from the beginning, how to fall in love? To realize that nothing separates us from our neighbor and everything

unite? To love life again and to honor the miracle that is given to us?

The Hero of our project was able to do it! He was able to do it even though he had lost everything – job, money, expensive house, power, prestige and with it the meaning of existence. He was able to, even if he now lives in a basement in Acharnon. He did it! Discovering the good in everything in and around him – he embraced and loved life again.

Because as the “Great” Fyodor Dostoyevsky says: “A man who knows how to hug, is a good man.”

And since he was able to do it… why not us?
