The Port Authority of Avilés (Spain) has announced the creation of a new merchandise storage area by enabling a 28,118 m² plot, located next to the public parking lot on San Juan beach.

To carry out this project, Alvargonzález Contratas has been awarded the execution of works in a space of 9,418 m², with a budget of 212,760.35 euros and a completion period of three months.

Specifically, the initiative will involve a series of actions such as paving the plot, drainage network, demolition of existing buildings, enclosing the land, installation of a perimeter closure, including the dismantling and reuse of part of an existing closure in the port and the complete demolition of a ruined building located on the plot.

The investment seeks to improve port infrastructure and facilitate the collection of goods in the area, responding to the logistics needs of the region. These new facilities are expected to contribute to economic development and strengthen the position of the port of Avilés in the commercial field.

On the other hand, the company Idesa, European Engineering and Design, has recently submitted a request to the Port of Avilés to obtain an administrative concession that allows the occupation of a plot of approximately 8,100 m². This plot is located on the right bank of the estuary, within the service area of the Asturian enclave.
