Today, the state system in the economic sphere in Armenia is almost non-functioning, former Deputy Minister of Economy Garegin Melkonyan said during the discussion organized by “I have honor” alliance.
“The positive indicators of 2019 have nothing to do with the economic policy implemented by this government,” he said.
The economist noted that economic policy is not implemented today.
According to Garegin Melkonyan, assessing the basic realities of Armenia, it is necessary to form such a business environment that is competitive in the region.
“Today, Armenia lags behind both Eurasian Economic Union member states and neighboring countries in terms of business environment, procedures, simplicity, and effectiveness of transparency,” said the former deputy minister.
He mentioned that it is possible to implement these reforms in Armenia.
“Armenia should be attractive from the point of view of the business environment, otherwise the investments brought here will return to their countries of origin or other countries of the region over time,” he said.
