The prefect of Loire-Atlantique accepted the request for resignation of the mayor of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins who had expressed the desire to leave office after having been the subject of threats and violence, learned on Wednesday May 31 the Agence France-Presse at the prefecture.

“The prefect accepted his resignation, in accordance with the request of the mayor”said the prefecture, confirming information from the daily West France. “The letter has been sent, his resignation is effective from the date of notification of this letter”added the prefecture, specifying that the letter was addressed “week 22”or since the beginning of the week.

Heard by the Senate Law Commission and received at Matignon on May 17 by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the elected official, a doctor by profession, had criticized the State, and in particular the sub-prefect of the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire. , for his lack of support within the framework of this transfer project, yet decided by the State.
