The preliminary investigation regarding the illegal purchase, possession, and transportation of narcotic drugs by the person arrested on suspicion of committing mass riots has been completed in the Department of Investigation of General and Electoral Crimes of the RA Investigative Committee’s Central Department of Investigation.

During the preliminary investigation, a 29-year-old man from the Dasht community of Armavir marz was arrested on the basis of reasonable suspicion of committing mass riots. The latter’s personal search revealed a yellow-green mass and one glass cylinder with ash marks. In this regard, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 396, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. A decision was made to join the mentioned two criminal proceedings and conduct a joint investigation.
According to the conclusion of the forensic chemical examination appointed during the preliminary investigation, the crushed vegetable mass of hemp with a constant dry weight of 3.78 grams found in the young man and submitted to the examination is a drug of the “Marijuana” type.
On the basis of the sufficient facts obtained by the investigation, a decision was made to initiate public criminal prosecution against the young man, and the latter was charged under part 1 of Article 393 of the RA Criminal Code.
