The President of the Olympic Committee directs to overcome the difficulties obstructing the work of the Settlement Center

Today, Tuesday, the President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, visited the Sports Settlement and Arbitration Center at its headquarters in the capital, Baghdad, while directing that the difficulties obstructing the center’s work be removed.

The Olympic Committee stated in a statement received by the (INA): “Muftin met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Judge Muhammad Ali Mahmoud Nadeem, and the head of the center, Zaid Fares Al Salman.”
The Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee, Haitham Abdel Hamid, said, according to the statement: “The two sides discussed in detail the work of the Center for Sports Settlement and Arbitration, in accordance with the call sent by the Supreme Judicial Council in order to find solutions to all the obstacles that expose the Center’s progress and undermine its work.”
Abdel Hamid added, “During the meeting, Muften presented the text of the letter addressed by the International Olympic Committee to the Center for Sports Settlement and Arbitration, which includes, according to Article 42 of the bylaws, recognition of the independence and work of the Center, which represents the only body responsible for resolving disputes between sports institutions.” in Iraq and decide on issues related to it,” adding that “the visions were unified among all parties during the meeting, regarding the center’s mechanism and platform of work and the applicable legal frameworks.”
He stated that “the President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee listened in great detail to the proposals and ideas of Judge Muhammad Ali Mahmoud Nadim and Zaid Fares Al Salman. The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee also directed to overcome all difficulties that obstruct the work of the Settlement Center in the coming period.”
Abdul Hamid pointed out that “Muftin was accompanied on his visit by Secretary-General Haitham Abdul Hamid, Financial Secretary Sarmad Abdul Ilah, and Director of the Financial Secretariat Ahmed Sabry,” noting that “the Sports Settlement and Arbitration Center was established in accordance with the Iraqi National Olympic Committee Law 29 Article 16, and it is a step The establishment of the center is a bright and shining mark in the history of the sports movement in Iraq.”
