A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in which the heads of departments representing the economic bloc of the government and specialists of the Central Bank participated.
The Prime Minister noted that the purpose of the consultation is to try to assess the impact of the coronavirus on the economy and reveal the opportunities that our country and the economic sector can take advantage of. According to the Prime Minister, as a result of such discussions, it is necessary to evaluate how the government should respond to opportunities in the short-term and long-term sectors, taking into account the changes in the structure of the economy under new conditions.
A number of ideas, suggestions and observations were presented within the framework of discussions in this context. Specialists of the Central Bank presented their analyzes of developments and possible trends in the world economy. In that context, the construction of human capital, technology and knowledge-based economy sectors and the promotion of investments have been emphasized.
Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized. “Our main targets should also be changes in consumer behavior. It is necessary to promote creativity and understand how to do it so that it spreads in companies, among people, in families.” Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the consolidation of Armenian scientific potential and the development of specific formulas for development according to sectors.
The head of the government noted that discussions in this format will be continuous and instructed to submit proposals and new ideas in the above-mentioned directions.
