On the initiative of Gevorg Papoyan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly, another working discussion was held, the core of which was the priority branches of industry announced by the Government.

The meeting was a logical continuation of the discussion held on November 12, during which measures aimed at promoting production and exports were discussed. It was agreed to address these issues more thoroughly at the next meeting.

Representatives of state bodies, RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, his deputies, Deputy Chairman of SRC Artur Manukyan, partner of “Ameria” group of companies and head of Management Consulting Service Tigran Jrbashyan, experts were invited to the discussion.

The government has approved five priority sectors for industrial development: jewelry, diamond, light and heavy industry, hardware and pharmaceuticals. Reference was made to their selection methodology, reasons and strategies by which the Government aims to attract new investments, create jobs, etc. in these areas.

During the interested discussion, a number of other issues related to increasing productivity and prospects for the development of individual sectors were also touched upon. The process of decision-making based on analyzes and the involvement of expert circles was highlighted.

Questions related to the tasks and opportunities in the above areas were discussed with the representatives of the Government and experts.
