The Prism brings meditation to the heart of Milan: the spiritual art of URBAN PROJECT illuminates the city
Milan stops and breathes with The Prism: URBAN PROJECT transforms the streets of the city into spaces of meditation and awareness. From Friday 15 November, at 6.00 pm, the works of Stefano Simontacchi, curated by Marco Senaldi, will leave the exhibition space to enter the urban heart through a network of imposing LED walls, starting from Piazza San Fedele. This public installation projects the “energy portals” of The Prism, a meditative art project that offers citizens a moment of pause, reflection and inner connection.
The awareness path, called THE PRISM WAY, is divided into 7 fundamental steps, accessible via a QR code on the LED walls. Spectators will thus be able to follow a series of meditations guided by the artist’s voice, each associated with a shamanic work and the energy it represents. This spiritual journey accompanies the discovery of one’s mission, inspiring one to act with love and gratitude. THE PRISM WAY invites you to repeat the meditative cycle, encouraging continuous internal transformation.
Vincenzo Acone, supporter and patron of the project, has made his advertising structures available, in particular the LED wall in Piazza San Fedele from 15 to 17 November, as well as other screens strategically positioned in the city until 1 December. Acone Associati, its dealership specializing in the restoration of buildings and monuments, estimates that the installation will reach over one and a half million contacts, offering a deep and continuous immersion in the world of The Prism.
Marco Senaldi, curator of The Prism, explains: “Contemporary art has always tried to escape from traditional spaces, be they museums, galleries or domestic places, although there are relatively few cases in which it has made use of urban advertising spaces. If on the one hand the URBAN PROJECT operation fits into this trend, on the other hand it completely goes beyond it as regards its aims and intentions. URBAN PROJECT, unlike all other public art projects, is not based only on an aesthetic scheme, but recovers a shamanic practice according to which shapes, colours, sounds, words are vibrations capable of generating a energetic resonance that can be individual, but also collective.” Senaldi concludes by highlighting that the true objective of THE PRISM is to awaken a healing of the soul, a gift for the community that leads to a profound awareness.
In the daily frenzy, the URBAN PROJECT aims to slow down the gaze, creating a space for reflection and introspection accessible to anyone passing through the streets of Milan. To support this event, The Prism Core Center, recently inaugurated in Piazza Napoli 22, will offer workshops and seminars dedicated to personal and spiritual growth, created in collaboration with holistic wellness experts.
Interview between the Time.news Editor and Marco Senaldi, Curator of The Prism
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Marco! It’s great to have you here to discuss The Prism project that’s set to transform the streets of Milan into an oasis of meditation. For our readers, could you start by sharing what inspired this unique urban art initiative?
Marco Senaldi: Thank you for having me! The inspiration behind The Prism stems from a desire to cultivate mindfulness and awareness in our bustling urban environment. In our modern lives, we often rush from one task to another, losing touch with ourselves and our surroundings. By bringing meditation into the heart of Milan, we hope to encourage people to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their inner selves amidst the chaos of city life.
Time.news Editor: That’s a beautiful vision! The project features LED walls portraying “energy portals.” Can you elaborate on what these portals are and how they integrate with the concept of meditation?
Marco Senaldi: Absolutely! The energy portals are visual representations of various shamanic artworks created by Stefano Simontacchi. Each portal embodies a specific energy related to the meditative theme it represents. As spectators interact with these installations, they are invited to engage with them on a deeper level. The LED walls serve not only as artistic displays but also as gateways into guided meditations, each associated with a particular energy and intention that enhances the spectator’s experience.
Time.news Editor: I love the idea of blending art with spirituality. Speaking of engagement, you’ve mentioned THE PRISM WAY, which consists of seven steps accessible via a QR code. Can you walk us through what participants can expect from this journey?
Marco Senaldi: Certainly! THE PRISM WAY is designed to be an interactive experience that invites individuals to embark on a spiritual journey. Once participants access the QR code, they’ll discover seven guided meditations, each narrated by Simone Tazzetti, the artist behind the project. Each step corresponds to a specific meditation focused on self-discovery and mindfulness, enabling participants to explore their mission in life. This cycle encourages continual internal transformation, allowing individuals to return and reflect whenever they feel the need.
Time.news Editor: That’s incredibly enriching! It sounds like an ideal way to introduce mindful practices to a wider audience. How do you envision the public responding to such an innovative approach to spirituality in an urban setting?
Marco Senaldi: We hope to see a warm and enthusiastic response from the community. Milan is a vibrant city filled with cultural enthusiasts, and we believe that The Prism will resonate with many. By transforming public spaces into areas of reflection, we aim to invite people to slow down and engage with their surroundings in a meaningful way. Our goal is to normalize meditation as a part of daily life, encouraging citizens to explore their inner worlds in the midst of their busy routines.
Time.news Editor: It sounds like an incredible opportunity for personal insight. Additionally, Vincenzo Acone’s support has been instrumental for this project. How has his involvement impacted the project’s reach and visibility around the city?
Marco Senaldi: Vincenzo’s contribution has been absolutely vital. By providing strategic advertising spaces, including the prominent LED wall in Piazza San Fedele, we’ve been able to amplify our message and reach a broader audience. His support allows us to create a multi-dimensional experience that engages citizens through art and meditation in some of the most visible areas of the city, drawing in individuals who may not have otherwise encountered such initiatives.
Time.news Editor: It’s inspiring to see community collaboration at work. what hopes do you have for the future of The Prism and urban meditation? Do you envision this concept extending beyond Milan?
Marco Senaldi: Our ultimate hope is to create a ripple effect. If The Prism resonates with the people of Milan, we aim to expand to other cities, offering a model of urban meditation that can be adapted to different cultural contexts. The essence of this project is universal: the need for connection, stillness, and self-awareness. We believe that as urban art continues to evolve, integrating mindfulness and meditation will pave the way for more inclusive and reflective public spaces.
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Marco! Your insights truly illuminate the transformative potential of art and meditation in urban life. We can’t wait to see The Prism come to life in Milan!
Marco Senaldi: Thank you for shining a light on this project. We look forward to sharing this journey with everyone in the city!
