The Attorney General, Diana Salazar, requests preventive detention for 13 people, including former Correista assemblyman Ronny Aleaga. Former Correísta assemblyman Ronny Aleaga appeared electronically and asked to be heard by the Court. Judge Córdova granted him a maximum of two minutes to address the Court.
His lawyer, Adrián Flores Pazmiño, claimed that the Prosecutor’s Office did not prove the relationship between his client and the drug trafficker Leandro Norero. Nor the reasons that would make him alias “The Russian.”
Aleaga finally spoke: “I appeal to your consideration to allow me to continue appearing in a manner that is safe for me, it is public knowledge that I am outside the country.” He finally claimed to have information that may favor the case.
