Poochathi (Thrissur) ∙ Youth Congress staged a small protest against the state government’s decision to impose an additional cess of Rs 2 on petrol and diesel. Youth Congress workers gave Rs 2 each as ‘consolation’ to those who came to fill fuel at the petrol pump in Poochathi.
Those who came to fill fuel accepted Rs 2 and showed solidarity with the protest. Some of them encouraged the protestors by gifting them with the cash they had. In support of the protest, a total of more than 100 rupees 2 rupees were distributed. The activists reached the pump after collecting as many coins as possible. The protest was organized by the Youth Congress Ollur Constituency Committee.
