with a full capacity at the Guíxols Arena, the comedian wanted to confuse the audience by dressing up as a magician and trying to do some failed trick, but he returned to his essence and started a intense monologue, crazy and with a lot of rhythm, which made the attendees cry with laughter, where he interspersed his own delirious songs, dressed up and dancing accompanied by a guitarist. He said goodbye by thanking everyone for enduring the inclement weather to see his show.
Much more placid was, on the other hand, the recording of the podcast Hey Polofrom the comedians Hey Sherman (Maria Rovira) and Ana Polo, which took place at the Narcís Masferrer theater and therefore saved the attendees from the rain. Despite his label d'”feminist humor” -which they do, and a lot, especially with the presentation of the Bertín awards for each program-, both showed that their humor is transversal and reaches a very diverse audience, as could be seen on Friday (although it is disputed that 80% of the audience are lesbians, according to a survey on site from the theater itself).
Rovira and Polo offered the usual sections of their program from Sant Feliu: one medley of misunderstood songs (really, the tunes of Ranma i Fly are they so similar?), a review of the working conditions of a certain leisure education company, theOye Sherman’s hilarious account of how they had tried to scam him on Instagram (and they had almost succeeded) or the biographical review of Ana Polo in the recently disappeared Carmen Seville, in its folklore review section. All dressed up with a new gazpacho recipe (this time, with Scottish white beans… judge for yourself) and with Bertín awards that they had a lot of rejection of transphobia, coinciding with LGGTBI+ Pride week. The result of the podcast, produced by Ràdio Primavera Sound, can be heard on Spotify in the coming days.
But Romero and Oye Polo were not the only protagonists of Friday night. Before, Ignasi Taltavull and Adri Romeo they had recorded their podcast, Aquí Estamos, while walking through Sant Feliu, as they usually do in the streets of Barcelona.
Yesterday, Salat’s programming continued with Martita de Graná at Guíxols Arena, while Bruno Gold took the stage in Las Vegas. Today will be the turn of Wilbur (Narcís Masferrer Auditorium), Don’t touch me the Story (Las Vegas) i Leo Harlem at the Guíxols Arena, while on July 9 the comedy festival will close with the performance of The Luthiers also at Guíxols Arena.
