Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented details of his, Charles Michel and Aliyev’s meeting in Brussels.

“On May 14, we took another step and recorded that Azerbaijan recognizes the territory of 29.8 thousand square kilometers of Armenia, and Armenia recognizes the territory of 86.6 thousand square kilometers of Azerbaijan. I have to record that I consider this an important step for the establishment of stability and peace in the region, in terms of the finalization of the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the delimitation of borders as well,” he said at the government meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, the next step should be the identification and agreement of specific grounds with legal force and significance for demarcation.

“I want to draw special attention to the fact that the CE President’s statement following the tripartite meeting on May 14 emphasized the importance of the Baku-Stepanakert dialogue on the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, in cooperation with the international community. This is a process that is essential for the real and comprehensive settlement of relations with Azerbaijan and the establishment of long-lasting peace in the region, therefore, it will greatly speed up the signing of the peace treaty,” Pashinyan said.
