In the context of the digital transformation of education

The above decision of the regional authority was announced by the Vice-Regional Governor for Education and Lifelong Learning, Yiannis Kritikos to the Board of the First ELME Dodecanese and specifically to the President, Antonis Koufos and the General Secretary, Dimitris Kladogenis, in a meeting he had with them at the offices of the Region.

In the context of the digital transformation in education attempted by the Ministry of Education, there is a need to train teachers in school units on new methods and tools, such as interactive tables, digital tutorials, a platform for bullying, etc. Mr. Kritikos assured the representatives of the Dodecanese teachers that the Region, both through the Directorate of Education and through the regional KEK Gennimata, will support the smooth transition of teachers to the changes enacted by the Ministry, inaugurating a new series of seminars at the regional KEK Gennimata. In the meantime, in addition to training in new digital media, KEK Gennimatas is planning seminars for teachers on various other pedagogical issues, such as that of school violence or special learning difficulties.

During their meeting, the Deputy Governor of Education informed the representatives of the union body about the special program for the maintenance of school units that the South Aegean Region was the first to create and finance from the Public Investment Program, which is at the disposal of the Municipalities as well as about the special program purchase of equipment in vocational education school units. At the same time, he informed them about the NSRF program and the axes that finance the construction of new school units.

Finally, the high level of cooperation of the Region with the educational community and its representatives was confirmed once again and its continuous support was confirmed in the key issues of the full coverage of the organizational gaps in the schools of the islands as well as the financial support of the teachers who serve in the border areas.
