During Super Tuesday, former US President Donald Trump and current US leader Joe Biden won the primaries in most states and remained the leading candidates for the presidency of their parties. This was reported by CNBC TV channel, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.

Donald Trump won the election as the Republican candidate in 14 out of 15 states, losing to former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in Vermont. She received half of the total votes, while only 45 percent of voters voted for Trump.

The current head of state, Biden, in turn, lost the primaries only in American Samoa. He lost to Maryland entrepreneur Jason Palmer, who is relatively new to his political career and has presumably never visited the US overseas territory.

“Super Tuesday” is the first Tuesday in March in an election year, when intra-party voting (primaries) and meetings of party activists (caucuses) of the Democratic and Republican parties take place in most American states. Through voting, parties determine who will represent them in national elections. On March 5, during Super Tuesday, voting took place in 15 states.
