Chaksh’s Javelin ⁣Throw at the Paris Olympics

Chaksh’s performance at the Paris Olympics qualifying competition left much⁣ to be desired. Despite three attempts, he failed‌ to record⁤ a valid score.​ Crossing the finish line in⁤ all three attempts, he expressed his ⁢disappointment, stating, “Those scores were terrible, but I didn’t want to ‌be counted.”

The Latvian athlete​ started in the second group and encountered trouble from the outset. His first two attempts, covering a distance of approximately 70 meters, were disqualified as⁢ he intentionally crossed the ‌sector line. In his final attempt, the javelin flew around the 67-meter mark,‌ but it was too little too late.

Chaksh attributed his poor performance to⁢ mental rather than physical factors. He admitted feeling tense in his first attempt and experiencing discomfort in his groin during his second attempt. Despite the setbacks, he remains determined to ⁤compete this season ⁢and potentially improve his ‍season-best score.

His teammate,‌ Patriks Gailums, fared slightly⁢ better in ‌the ‌first qualifying group, finishing 11th and securing ⁢25th place overall. His best throw measured‌ 77.26 meters.

The Olympic Games in Paris will continue until August 11th and will be held in the French capital and 16 other locations. The competition‌ features 32 sports and will‌ award ⁢329 ‍medals.
