The Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced this Wednesday that it will “dispense with the services” of the general secretary, Andrew Fieldsthat he will not name a new one and that the functions will be assumed on an interim basis by Elvira Andres i Alfredo Olivares until the end of the body’s electoral process.
From this moment on, “and in this time of transition until the end of the electoral process”, the functions of Camps will be assumed by the director of the Office of the PresidencyElvira Andrés, “in the representative field as secretary of the governing bodies and representation of the Federation”.
Likewise, Alfredo Olivares will assume the executive functions, current Director of Competitions.
The RFEF explains that “this decision has been taken in accordance with article 39.2” of the Statutes, which indicates that “the appointment of the general secretary will be optional for the president of the RFEF, who, if he does not make such an appointment, will be the person in charge of that person’s own functions, being able to delegate to the people he deems appropriate”.
