Igor Mitrofanov, Head of the Department of Nuclear Planetology at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, announced the date of the launch of the first Russian mission to the Moon in an interview with journalists.

He specified that the Luna-25 automatic interplanetary station would be used for this mission.

“The start is scheduled from Vostochny on August 11, the spare day is August 12,” Mitrofanov said.
