The Russian government has extended until December 31, 2022, the term of the ban on the import of agricultural products from a number of countries within the framework of counter-sanctions. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
“Introduce until December 31, 2022 a ban on the import into the Russian Federation of agricultural products, raw materials and food, the country of origin of which is the United States of America, the countries of the European Union, Canada, Australia, the Kingdom of Norway, Ukraine, the Republic of Albania, Montenegro, the Republic of Iceland, the Principality Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, ”the document says.
On September 20, the decree on the extension of counter-sanctions was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The sanctions were imposed in 2014 in response to EU measures, which included restricting access to the EU capital market for a number of Russian financial institutions with state participation, defense and energy companies, an embargo on the arms trade and supply of dual-use goods to Russia, and restricting Russian access to some technologies in the oil and gas sector.
