According to the shooting instructor, the distance was not great and a number of factors could have complicated an otherwise simple shot into a fatal one.
“The distance was about 150 meters. This is a relatively simple shot. There are also a number of additional factors that make it challenging. They are wind, did the target move, as well as the projectile of the weapon,” Hristov explained to bTV.
He is a multiple republican champion in dynamic shooting and the first Bulgarian to meet the standards for the “black belt” among shooters in the USA – the Grand Master title.

This academy trains a number of branches of the US military, select government military and police agencies and units for firearms operations. To date, Rosen Hristov is the director of the training process.
According to him, it is very strange how the security perimeter of such an event, where the breach occurs, is not provided.
“The shooter was wearing camouflage pants. The weapon is large, how did it get on the roof? Even if it is disassembled, it cannot be overlooked. If he had a backpack, how did he get through security. There are many questions,” the expert added.
He also explained that of the 8 shots fired, the shooter measured 3, the other 5 were short and it was clear to him that he would not hit the target.
“If he wanted an accurate shot, at such a rate of fire, there’s no way it’s going to happen. It is characteristic of targets at a close distance, type of silhouettes,” Hristov also said.
