Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today after a meeting of the National Security Council in Belgrade that the safety and security of Serbian citizens is a priority, Serbian media reported.

“We will keep our country in a very complicated geopolitical situation. The tasks have been allocated and will be completed,” Vucic wrote on his Instagram profile after the meeting.

The Serbian president said last night that there were several reasons for calling the meeting and that the reason was not last night’s terrorist attack near Moscow, but it was the immediate reason.

The meeting was attended by senior state representatives, members of the security services and the Serbian army, BTA reports.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, told journalists after the meeting that according to the assessments of the services, the situation in Serbia is stable and there is no direct evidence of a possible danger of a terrorist attack, the Fonet agency reported.

Nova Vucic told local television last night after the terrorist attack near Moscow that the Serbian security services will intensify their activities and special attention will be paid to the security of stadiums and shopping centers.

At least 115 were killed in yesterday’s attack near Moscow, with the number of victims expected to rise.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.
