Regarding the shares of Plovdiv Fair, we are conducting cases. The shares are and should be owned by the state. We must preserve this key asset for our country.
This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Bogdan Bogdanov, at a briefing after a meeting with the Mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, the Chairman of the Municipal Council in the city, Hristo Dimitrov, and the Vice-Chairmen of Varna Municipality.
“At the moment, we do not expect a final decision from the municipality of Varna and the regional administration, because we have a judicial process, but the moral declaration that could be made is also important for us, how Varna envisions the development of this key asset and the return of the shares said Bogdanov.
According to him, the shares of the Plovdiv fair were provided free of charge to the municipality of Varna, so there is no comment on payment by the state at all, emphasized the Minister of Economy.
He added that as the shares were granted, they should be returned.
“The Varna municipality’s shares from the Plovdiv Fair must be returned to the state. This was confirmed by Blagomir Kotsev, the mayor of the seaside town.
“The Plovdiv fair must be preserved as a national treasure and developed. Falling into private hands and becoming an accomplice in a hidden privatization is not something that Varna wants to participate in,” he pointed out.
We remind you that the Municipality of Varna owns 16,314,400 shares, or 29% of the capital of “International Fair Plovdiv” AD.
Minister Bogdanov filed a lawsuit on behalf of the state and, after a court decision, imposed a seizure on these shares from the capital of “International Fair Plovdiv” AD. The court confirmed the suspension of the registration of the contribution of the shares from the Plovdiv Fair from the municipality of Varna to “Paldin Turinvest” AD. This means that until the end of the proceedings, the shares from the Plovdiv Fair will not go to the private company.
There is also a decision of the municipal council on the case, which has not been implemented for years, and a new decision is needed to cancel it. We remind you that the Minister of Economy and Industry ordered a full legal analysis of the case with the Plovdiv Fair upon taking office. .
Later, by its decision, the Council of Ministers assigned him to perform all possible actions in defense of the state interest.
