The sharp increase in cases of violations of Armenian goods imported into the Russian Federation is of concern to the SATM

by times news cr

The RA Food Safety Inspection Authority records that the cases of detection of quarantine harmful organisms by the RF Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service (“Rosselkhoznadzor”) in cargo exported from the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation increased 110 times in the period between November 24 and 26 compared to the previous 11 months. .

It is worrisome that half of the total 72 violations recorded by the relevant department of the Russian Federation in cargo exported from Armenia in 2023, 36, were detected during the previous almost 11 months, and the other half – within only 3 days. And that’s in the case when, according to the statement of that Russian department, the inspections were carried out in working order, without changing the handling procedure.

As the RA Food Safety Inspection Body has previously studied and responded to all cases of violations, it will now implement control measures regarding all cases mentioned in the statement, for all cargoes, expecting consistent and impartial cooperation from the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service of the Russian Federation.
