Thiruvananthapuram – The Crime Branch has registered a case and started investigation on the complaint that the accused in the solar case, Saritha S. According to the FIR, Vinu Kumar conspired with the accused in the harassment complaint filed by Saritha with the intention of making financial gain by killing the complainant through fraud. The complainant was given chemicals in such a way that she could die. IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 420 (cheating), 120B (conspiracy) and 34 (organized conspiracy) have been imposed. Saritha said that the information came out when she sought treatment after contracting the disease.
High levels of arsenic, mercury and lead were found in the blood. Saritha says that the assassination attempt started from 2018. The presence of a poisonous substance was suspected when physical difficulties were encountered. However, the complaint was not lodged as it was not possible to identify who it was. On January 3, 2022, it was learned that Vinu Kumar had mixed the chemical at a juice shop in Karamana during the journey. He threw away the juice without drinking it. When Vinu Kumar raised a ruckus by asking where the glass he drank was from, Vinu Kumar was told not to come to work from the next day. Saritha lodged a complaint with the crime branch after getting the doctor’s opinion and medical results.
After receiving the complaint, the crime branch conducted a preliminary investigation. Vinu Kumar’s house was searched. Information was also collected from treating doctors. The investigation team collected Vinu Kumar’s phone records. A recommendation will be made for the formation of a medical board as scientific examination is required.
