On November 19, the international technology summit SILICON MOUNTAINS 2021 will be held in Matenadaran, which is dedicated to the use of smart solutions in the economy (Digital Smart Economy).

For the second time, the organizer of the event is the Union of Information and Communication Technologies Employers. Within the framework of the summit, the prospects for the application of smart solutions and digitization of the economy will be discussed.

The special guest of the summit will be the president of Synopsys supranational company Dr. Chi-Foon Chan, who is the recipient of the RA State Award 2020 (GIT Award 2020) for global contribution to the IT sector.

This was announced during the press conference held today in the meeting hall of Matenadaran, which was attended by Armen Baldryan, General Director of “Unicomp” CJSC and President of the ICT Employers’ Union, Eduard Musayelyan, Executive Director of the ICT Employers’ Union, Board Member of the ICT Employers’ Union, Ralph, CEO of Viva-MTS Company. Yirikyan, Director of “Synopsis Armenia” CJSC Hovik Musayelyan and Chief Executive Officer of “AKBA Bank” OJSC Hakob Andreasyan.

The main sponsor of the summit is the Unicomp company, and the supporters are the RA Ministry of High-tech Industry, Synopsys Armenia and AKBA Bank.

“SILICON MOUNTAINS is our equivalent answer to Silicon Valley, still only in summit form. It speaks to our positioning of where we want to be on the global technology map, showing our country as a country that offers and exports complex engineering solutions. One of the most important problems of Armenia is to actively apply and export digital solutions. We can be competitive in the world only if we have qualified engineers,” said Eduard Musayelyan, executive director of the ICT employers’ union.

“The summit will represent a meeting of business leaders and an open discussion. Company leaders will present their experience, plans, becoming an example for other businesses. Today there are areas that have little connection with modern technologies and do not have all the information necessary for development. It is necessary to transfer this information as quickly as possible so that businesses remain competitive in the international market,” Armen Baldryan, General Director of “Unicomp” CJSC and President of the ICT Employers Union, emphasized.

“This summit has a clear target: the factor of using information technologies as a tool in various branches of the economy, which, unfortunately, is not in a very good condition in Armenia. We believe that our businessmen representing different branches of the economy should participate in similar events in order to have ideas about the digitalization of the general economy, as well as to find edges of cooperation with each other,” said Hovik Musayelyan, director of “Synopsis Armenia” CJSC, adding that still Soviet Armenia used to be a unique Silicon Valley and now it is necessary to restore that tradition through technological development.

“We should think about the digital future of our country, having a digital economy. It is necessary to understand how the business world should develop on the way to having a digital economy. We need to start thinking about creating and exporting new products and services,” said Hakob Andreasyan, Chief Executive Officer of “AKBA Bank” OJSC.

“The RA state award ceremony for global investment in the IT sector will coincide with the Silicon Mountains summit. One of the exceptional personalities and today’s living legends who raised the ICT sector to a qualitatively new level, who will be hosted in our country, with his presence will greatly stimulate the attention of the youth towards the summit, where the state, companies and specialists will discuss issues related to Armenia’s digital agenda and future. We all have a great work to do together. we must encourage the innovative way of thinking, we must strengthen the faith of young people in their own strengths and abilities. Today, more than ever, we need to introduce the productivity culture and value system of working day and night, walking on our own path, not someone else’s,” said Ralph Yirikyan, CEO of Viva-MTS Company.
